DST Episode 20: A Good IDEA - The International Digital Economy Association And The BRICS Single Currency (From 03/22/25)

The International Digital Economy Association (IDEA), which recently celebrated its first anniversary, includes members from more than 90 countries. The bulk of them are from Asia-Pacific, Southeast Asia, Africa and Latin America. All of them, as representatives of the Global South, see Russia as a promising and reliable partner in exporting innovative technologies and co-operation in the financial sphere. IDEA is enthusiastic about the results of last year’s Russian presidency in BRICS, noting the launch of many advanced innovations in our country, which have good prospects for scaling up in the ASEAN region. The organisation looks with great hope at the prospects of BRICS development, hoping to one day become full-fledged members of the association. IDEA believes that the future cooperation of the countries of the Global South should be based on a new and independent financial system. It is for this reason that the organisation actively supports national digital and cryptocurrencies that simplify international financial cooperation. We talked to IDEA Secretary General and Co-Founder Cristina Amor Maclang about all this and more. Watch the new episode of Dynamic Spectrum: Talks podcast with Anna Shafran and Yuri Lindre
