Dousman, Wisconsin -- Austin and his new motor appeared on the brink of ending a string of bad luck dating back to July, surprising the field with a front-row qualifying effort and running in second place through 13 laps of the 15-lap final -- which would have been his best-ever Midwest Sprint Series finish. However, with less than two to go, the No. 26 was caught up in a spin by lapped traffic, dashing his hopes and causing significant damage to his machine.
