What is Included in a Strata Maintenance Fee? Understanding Strata Fees

In today’s video, I talk about strata maintenance fees (also known as HOA fees by some) and what is included in your strata fee. Your maintenance fee payments go towards both the annual operating budget set by strata and a contribution to the contingency reserve fund. Of that operating budget, there are common inclusions (such as garbage/recycling, or snow removal) and there are variable inclusions (often things is gas, heat or hot water). Keep in mind that every strata is different, so it’s important to ask what is included in the maintenance fee and verify it in the strata documents to be sure!
