Greater Brighton Celebrations (1928)

Full titles read: “Greater Brighton Celebrations - A thousand players take part in Pageant of famous watering place’s history.“ Brighton, East Sussex. L/S of numerous people on horses, including several women in coned-shaped mediaeval hats, on a recreational field. A crowd watches from the spectator stand. Several more L/S of the pageant passing across the field - it is all a bit too far away to be very interesting! A clergyman comes onto the field, swinging a decanter about; he is followed by choirboys, monks and other clergymen assisting a bishop. The Bishop (of Sussex?) blesses people in the pageant. M/S panning across the field shows people in medieval dress setting up stalls and dancing. L/S of more costumed people walking past the spectators. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
