Kabuki and Zen master Shozo Sato coordinated a series of Saturday afternoon events in April and May 2005 at Northwestern University to give visitors the opportunity to explore traditional Japanese art forms including the tea ceremony, flower arranging, calligraphy, music, dance, poetry composition and black ink painting. NUAMPS was invited to record his presentation of calligraphy, and in doing so, not only documented the event, but also provided the live audience with a unique birds-eye camera view of Sato’s work, much of which was crafted on the stage floor.
