Californians defy evacuation orders as wildfire threatens homes

Residents of a small California town are refusing to evacuate as one of the largest wildfires in the state’s history threatens their homes. More than 4,000 firefighters and emergency personnel are battling the Park fire in northern California, which by Monday had burned more than 350,000 acres across four counties. The fire broke out on Wednesday, when authorities say a man pushed a burning car into a ravine near the city of Chico, about 160 miles north of San Francisco.
