ALASKAN Log Cabin Project (Summer Beam) - Wk 4

Spring is finally here! The weather forecast for next week is sunny and warm. The logs walls are at full height on the eave walls, but the gable walls still need an additional three courses in order to lock the summer beam into place. First I will install the gable logs, then I will start the roof framing. This cabin is located in an area that sees very little wind throughout the year. The roof framing will differ significantly from my cabin in the mountains where the wind never seems to stop blowing. I think you will find the design aspects interesting.
