Budgies Beauty Parlour (1958)

Slough, Berkshire (was Buckinghamshire). C/U of a hand holding a cobalt budgie, it is being cleaned with a cotton bud. C/U of the face of 66 year old Captain Bill Moody who is grooming the bird. C/U of the budgie in the foreground, Bill is washing it with soapy water and a toothbrush. C/U of the toothbrush being dipped into the soapy water in a plastic box. There are several pairs of scissors and clippers round it. The narrator says Bill used to be a big game hunter and now has this unique salon. C/U of the budgie with soap on its head, the narrator says it is a secret formula foam shampoo. Various shots of the budgie being shampooed with the toothbrush. Bill wipes the shampoo off with cotton wool and a cotton bud, the bird flaps about a bit. The camera moves over to show his wife Eve who takes the budgie and wraps it in a cloth. C/U of Bill’s face.
