Quantise all the Things! Ornament and Crime Quantermain deep tutorial and patch examples

Quantermain is a pitch quantising application in Ornament and Crime. It has four quantising channels which can run independently or be combined together. But it can do much more than simply quantise pitch; it also has generator modes that can create melodies for you, it can be a sample and hold module, or a source of random voltages. With some creative self-patching you can make it the heart of a generative modular patch. In this video I explain how Quantermain works, and show you how to set it up in a basic patch. I explain the different trigger modes for quantisers and how they work. I’ll also show you how to use it with an unquantised sequencer like the Mimetic Digitalis from Noise Engineering. There is a lot to cover in this video, so I’ve broken out the key sections below. Feel free to jump around and re-watch sections, and be sure to leave me feedback and questions in the comments down below. Here are links to my other Ornament and Crime tutorials: 1.
