Bodycam Shows Texas Police Shoot Man After Charging at Officers With Knife And Club

** (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) ** Mesquite, Texas — The Mesquite Police Department released a 911 call and body camera video of the incident involving 27-year-old Ashton Pinke, who was fatally shot by two officers on May 4, 2021. Officers were sent to the Audubon Park Apartments Tuesday after dispatchers said they could hear screaming and the sounds of a struggle in the background of a 911 call before it hung up. The two officers involved were dispatched to the address and radio traffic could be heard saying the address was linked to Pinke, who has a history of bipolar schizophrenia and depression. When police arrived, the body camera video shows Pinke answering the door and telling an officer that there is no disturbance and then shutting the door.
