Hamas Ally Hezbollah Turns To Anti-Aircraft Missiles To Counter Israeli Strikes As Losses Mount

In three weeks of border clashes with Israel, dozens of Hezbollah fighters have been killed near the Lebanon-Israel border. The Lebanese group is aiming to reduce its losses and prepare for a possible prolonged conflict, as per Reuters. The Iran-backed group has lost 47 fighters to Israeli strikes at Lebanon’s frontier since its Palestinian ally Hamas and Israel went to war on Oct. 7. This is about a fifth of the number killed in a full-scale war between Hezbollah and Israel in 2006. With most of its fighters killed in Israeli drone strikes, Hezbollah unveiled its surface-to-air missile capability for the first time on Oct. 29.
