Cicada Princess was a short film completed by a team of artists using mostly puppets and hand built sets, with a bit of CG. Unlike traditional stop motion films, all of the puppet work was live action. I helped design the characters and environments, and with a small team, constructed about half of the sets in the film. There are quite a few videos under the “Stop Motion Puppets and Sets“ Playlist that have some behind the scenes, and how to videos and tutorials of the film being made.
I’m currently working on a children’s book called To Touch The Sun, where the final images in the book will be photographs of the sets and puppets. I’ll be documenting much of the project- building, lighting and photographing the sets, behind the scenes stuff concerning story development, and book formatting, puppet
