Tasmanian Lighthouse (1933)

Cape Pillar, Tasmania, Australia. Full title reads: “A Jump, now, of 12,000 miles to the Tasmanian Coast and the lonely watchers there.“ Story about a lighthouse on the Tasmanian Coast - Martsuyker Island? Various shots of the lighthouse. Top shot of four girls walking beside the lighthouse. They wave at the cameraman. Various views of the coastline. A boat arrives with supplies. There is a “flying bridge“ which is the only method for transporting supplies and people. We see two people in what looks like a crate on a rope - looks pretty scary. A cute little trolley makes its way up and down to the lighthouse carrying several people. Mail is delivered. Mother and children wave as the trolley approaches, and again as their visitors leave. The supply ship is called the “Cape York“ I think. Its flag is lowered “in salute to the brave hearts that keep their ceaseless vigil“. Australian voiceover - emphasises the solitude of life in this remote place. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH
