Tricia Penrose - ’Don’t Wanna Be Alone [Todd Terry Radio Edit]’ (2000)
Patricia Penrose is an actress and singer, best known for her 17 year stint playing Gina Ward in ITV1’s 1960s-set, Sunday night staple, ’Heartbeat’. In the show, she was required to sing often and even won a talent contest on-screen performing Lulu’s ’Shout’. She has also made appearances singing live on ’Stars In Their Eyes’ twice, performing as Lisa Stansfield and Brenda Lee.
Penrose released a couple of singles, starting with a Supremes’ cover, ’Where Did Our Love Go?’ in 1996 (#71) and this, an original pop composition, in 2000 (#44). This is the Todd Terry remix edit, featured on CD1 with a full length remix from Dave Sears and the enhanced video. I believe CD2 was cancelled (I’ve certainly never seen a copy), but it would probably have included, conversely the Dave Sears edit, the full Todd Terry remix and perhaps another mix by Blue Amazon (based on the 12“ vinyl promos). Tricia was next seen competing in ’A Song For Europe 2002’, where she placed second with ’DJ Romeo’, losing out to Jessica Garlick.
