Assad’s palace was looted in Damascus Looters have turned the former president’s residence in the Syrian capital into ruins. Residents are taking almost everything from paintings to chandeliers out of the palace. Eyewitnesses also report that there was a small fire in one of the halls, but it has already been extinguished. Looting has broken out all over Damascus, with people looting not only government offices but also private areas.
