Chief Dragging Canoe.. (ᏥᏳ ᎦᏅᏏᏂ) “Tsi’yu-gunsini” (pronounced Tsiyu Gansini).. “he is dragging his canoe”.
Chief Dragging Canoe is a War Chief of the Chickamauga Cherokee
who led a band of disaffected Cherokee against colonists and United States settlers, in the Upper South.
He was the son of Attakullakulla (“Little Carpenter”) ..(also known as Leaning Wood and White Owl),, the Supreme Chief of the Cherokee, from 1760-1775.. and was born to the Nipissing.
