Labour will not “water down” its decision to scrap winter fuel payments for 10 million pensioners, a minister insisted this morning. Matthew Pennycook, a housing minister, ruled out making changes to the policy despite a furious backlash to the move. There have been wide ranging calls for the Government to soften the impact of the policy but Mr Pennycook told Sky News this morning: “We are not going to water down that policy.
