IN MEMORY OF SARI
That Christmas the earth was black,
in those days the wind raged.
On Christmas Eve I felt sadness coming,
I guess I sensed it.
When at Christmas time I hoped to see you,
so the guys told the news that it was missed. (so)
Too late, too late,
I realized too late
what are tears, silence,
and repressed emotions.
When I grabbed the phone with trembling hands,
you did it with electricity and water, that’s what I was told. (so)
Now I look to the sky, I see eternity,
I guess you are there somewhere too,
you couldn’t stand the cruel world
I guess we’ll meet there sometime.
Only your grave remained,
and everywhere I crossed thus.
Tears burned my cheeks,
when I looked at your picture sun.
In the years when you were still here,
I secretly dreamed of taking her to the altar. (so)
But I got to take you to the grave.
Now I look to the sky, I see eternity,
I guess you are there somewhere too,
you couldn’t stand the cruel world
I guess we’ll meet there sometime.
For the sky is full of gold,
the surface of the lake is like silver.
You were half of me
a rib taken from me.
