Story of the Song.
The Sakura is a Beautiful Tree with cherry blossoms in Japan. It is the national flower of Japan. Its beauty is something to behold. My new song is bittersweet. It is called Waltz of the Sakura. And my song imagines the sadness of something as beautiful as the Sakura witnessing the tragedies through-out history.
War and Loss. Typhoons. Suffering. The Sakura watches all. But it perseveres. It does not lose or abandon its beauty in the face of ugliness…Like the Japanese people…. It keeps its dignity and hope. The Sakura is a symbol of renewal in the face of great sadness.
That is what this song is about.
Waltz of the Sakura is Track 3 on the “Where I’m Me“ Cd
