Ferruccio Tagliavini - Una furtiva lagrima (V-Disc, 1946)

Ferruccio Tagliavini (1913-1993) gives a ravishing rendition of Nemorino’s aria “Una furtiva lagrima“ from Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore. Originally recorded during a broadcast of the Bell Telephone Hour in 1946, this performance was issued on a V-Disc with a very charming spoken introduction by the tenor himself.
