1991 McLaren MP4/6 F1 Sound - Honda 3.5 V12 Engine Screams at Goodwood

This car was on my “must film“ list for a couple of years so far and now I can be enough happy to have recorded it. I said “enough happy“ because I didn’t fully appreciate the real sound of this car because I’m quite sure the two drivers have been forced to change gear very soon (2000-3000 rpm before the actual red line) but you can enjoy a couple of shots where the sound is really on point (1:00, 1:57 and 2:46). The 1991 McLaren MP4/6 is powered by a Honda V12 engine which was able to produce 720 hp at 13,800 rpm with a red line at 14,800 rpm. This particular one is chassis number 10 and it’s the only MP4/6 fitted with a fully functional Spec-3 version of the RA121E V12 engine.
