Explore Gyeongju’s Royal Tombs (Daereungwon) 경주 대릉원

What comes to mind when you think of Gyeongju(경주)? Gyeongju was the capital of Shilla(신라) Kingdom for over 1,000 years. Thousands of historic buildings and objects have been maintained well throughout the city, truly making it the “museum without walls.“ In Gyeongju, there’s a site called, Daereungwon(대릉원), consist of large tombs of kings in Shilla. There are twenty-three large tombs located here ; the most famous being Cheonmachong(천마총) and Hwangnamdaechong(황남대총). The city is most beautiful in fall with its glorious tints of autumn foliage.
