The Breidjing Camp (Claire Denis, 2015)

Filmmaker Claire Denis shot in eastern Chad, near the Sudanese border, in the Breidjing camp where more than 40,000 refugees from Darfur live. What was, ten years ago, a simple row of tents has now become a real city in which Claire Denis hosts meetings. A school on strike, a healthy hospital, a woman mason, young people who doubt and people upright in their dignity; after seven days on the spot, the director was able to capture a reality rarely described.
