Edinburgh Torchlight Procession 2023 - The Massed Pipes & Drums
Friday 29th December 2023 saw the return of the Edinburgh Torchlight Procession after an absence of 3 years due to lack of funding and covid19.
Another new route, this time leaving The Meadows and heading to The Royal Mile via King George IV Bridge, turning down Johnston Terrace and finishing at Castle Terrace.
The event moved off at 19:30 prompt and passed Edinburgh castle just after 20:00.
I follow the massed pipes & drums as usual. I made a schoolboy error and left my gloves in the car so by the time I reached Granny’s Green Steps my hands were frozen and I bailed back to my car in Grassmarket!
