Woody Kern - The Awful Disclosures Of Maria Monk 1968 (UK, Progressive Rock)
The only album of this British band is one of the most interesting and least known elements of progressive rock catalog . Hard to believe that such a fantastic piece of music , which was published at the end of 1968 , had to wait so long to be reissued on CD . Originally released on the label Pye, release is a very colorful album , which clearly stand out: blues, jazz , rock and psychedelic . As a result of this infernal mixture turned truly a feast for the listener : tasty guitar work , flute and saxophone nice , impressive Hammond organ and swing, powerful rhythm section . “Woody Kern“ is also experimenting with long instrumental compositions with many changes of rhythm. Unfortunately, the lack of proper management ended the career of one of the most remarkable groups of the time . Further locate almost all musicians “Woody Kern“ unknown. Only guitarist Rick Kenton appeared in the period 1972-73 in the “Roxy Music“ during its embryonic development.
