Following the SOPMOD Block II program to upgrade the U.S. Special Operation Forces Operator’s main weapon system, the URG-I (Upper Receiver Group - Improved) was phased in for service in 2018.
Since then, the URG-I has become the “multipurpose“ upgraded M4A1, frequently seen in the hands of the latest generation of U.S. SOF operators.
How well does the latest (and possible the last) upgrade of the M4A1 perform? We take a standard Geissele “near-clone“ M4A1 upper to the range for testing.
