Bifluidic Oscillator Simulation #2 (InterFoam, VoF, Exciting Phenomena) ∇ OpenFOAM®

The video shows a simulation of a fluidic oscillator device. This numerical investigation uses a multiphase solver to demonstrate the exciting flow characteristics inside the geometry. Based on the numerical results, the beauty and complex fluid structures inside the geometric application can be visualized. Note, the following set-up (2D) is not physically correct based on the misbalanced pressure field. A brief description of the operation: After the flow passes through the geometric device, the flow became, and vortexes are formed in a way that the ports will shift the inlet stream either up or down. Hence, the outflow will change the direction and oscillate. This device is used in the windscreen wiper. In this geometric device, the frequency is proportional to the mass flux.
