SUNDRUM by valter is the new star in the drum heaven. And many percussionists believe it´s a revolutionary new instrument. Briefly we describe it as a tunable 12-tone wooden hang drum. it´s the result of 8 years of experimenting and now we are proud to present it to you. The inspiration comes from African music and especially Cora, Mbira and ballafon playing. The Sundrum a circular tunable marimba similar to “tank drum“ but instead of steel it´s made out of wood which gives shorter sustain and dryer timbre. It´s shorter sustain makes it possible to play faster rhythmic melodies without the notes bluring toghether too much and the innovatinve patent pending tuning system gives you the possibillity to tune it to any scale - instead of carrying one instrument for each scale now you have them all in one piece.
