Otto Slide Valve 4 cycle carrier flame ignition test engine

This is a flame ignition test engine. The slide valve is physically 1/2 the size of the smallest production 4 cycle slide valve engine made ( French built Deutz License’ 1/2 HP Horizontal - about 1883). Its 1/2 scale translates in the ignition carrier flame pocket having a volume of 1/4 of the original.
