Kate Broderick: INO-4800 – A DNA based vaccine against COVID-19
In this talk, Dr Broderick introduces us to the INO-4800 SARS-CoV-2 DNA vaccine and shares Phase I and II clinical trial data. The vaccine is shown to induce broad antibody and persistent CD8 T cell responses (including T cell responses targeting Variants of Concern).
Kate Broderick received her Ph.D. from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, and conducted post-doctoral research at the University of California, San Diego. She joined INOVIO in 2006, where she currently leads a diverse research group focused on enhanced delivery techniques for gene-based therapeutics as the Senior Vice President, Preclinical R&D. She is a co-inventor on multiple patents related to DNA vaccine delivery and has served as a principal investigator on grants, awards, and contracts from leading government agencies and not-for-profit organizations, including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, the U.S. Department of Defense, the Small Business Innovation Research program, and including
