Fantastic PORCH UPGRADE! Installing AFCO Aluminum Column Wraps

Trimming out the porches continues with unseasonably warm weather as we welcome the New Year. In this episode we install custom aluminum porch column wraps from AFCO Industries. AFCO is a 75 year old, 100% employee owned American manufacturer in Louisiana. They are the ONLY domestic column and railing manufacturer that extrudes their own aluminum products. Everything is finished with an AMAA 2604 powder-coat paint, offered in seven different finishes. Part of AFCO’s Traditions Series of Aluminum Columns, the Natchez is based on a traditional, site-built box column design with the cap and base aesthetics of a “one by” wrap capped with 163 Base Trim molding. These have the same matching powder-coat finish of the Aluminum AFCO-Rail products. This product can be used to wrap an existing post like in our project or as a stand-alone, structural post. Without any additional support, the Natchez column can support up to 20,000 lbs. of dead-loading depending on the width of the column.
