The title track “Horimono” is a mesmerizing affair with an arrangement of warm chord stabs, swirling synths and spaced-out vibes. The breakdown brings us in deeper, creating mystery with a seductive female spoken vocal. Brazil’s Gabriel Chiari delivers a remix that increases the energy for the peak time moments that intertwines smooth layers of deep house with the grit of deep techno aesthetics. “Irezumi” is a deep groove of swaying synths combined with psychedelic overtones, accented by whirling synth hooks and a booming bass rhythm. Krissky delivers a dubby, tripped out interpretation that appears to stretch time with its slow groove and tweaked out effects and analog sounds. A real tension builder. Closing the release is “Dark Purpose”, highlighted by a punchy bass line, crisp percussion on top of comforting strange effects and blissful chords.
