The history of Taipei’s Metro systems (Taipei Metro, Taoyuan Metro, and New Taipei Metro) from 1996 to 2021 and their future expansion plan up to 2030 are shown in this animation. Note on station numbers Official station count of Taipei Metro is 131 as of 2021 which counts interchange stations multiple times, once for each line with exception of 4 stations (Ximen, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, Guting and Dongmen which provides cross-platform interchange and only counted once), For this video, interchange stations are only counted once with exception of 2 stations (Banqiao and Xinpu - Xinpu Minsheng which require passengers to leave paid area for interchange) Interchange stations between different operators are recounted for each operator.
