The Caliente was the top trim level. In addition to the luxury this offers it is also a K-code motor and a 4-speed! This is a very nice, unabused rust free car. Very handsome body lines and further enhanced with the rich colors.
EXTERIOR: Very nice original body that is absolutely straight and the panels square and flush. Rock solid, dry metal. Repainted its original Vintage Burgundy color. The metal flake is all laid out evenly, it’s polished smooth and glossy. It’s an older paint job that looks amazing standing next to it, although there are a number of touch ups and small imperfections. The bumpers may have been chromed. The rest of the trim is original and looking good. Original glass is clear, some wiper marks on the windshield. Door jambs are very clean, weatherstrips are soft. I have always really liked these chrome hubcaps, they have a muscle car look.
INTERIOR: I think it has a beautiful interior. I love the Palamino color against the burgundy the. The seat upholstery is excellent condition: great cushions, the stitching is excellent. The door panels are excellent. The interior lights work. In front of me as a very nice dash. The chrome, bezels, knobs, original radio all look great. It has the 1964 navigation system which is a compass! It also has a factory clock on the dash and a Cyclone tachometer. It has a tissue dispenser. Clean glovebox with owner’s manuals. Down on the floor the carpets look like new, it has embroidered floormats. The best part is the factory 4-speed shifter! Very nice original headliner and visors along with a day/night mirror. day.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It is a K-code performance 289 car. In the Mercury that meant it comes with the Mustang 289-210 hp 4 barrel engine but is upgraded with a 600 cfm carb bringing the hp to 230. This is a clean looking clean motor compartment. This one’s dressed up with Cobra finned valve covers and air cleaner. It features factory power steering. The metal is all clean and painted nicely. I think under the hood still has original paint.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It’s a very clean, tidy, and complete trunk compartment. All clean metal the same color as the car, probably original paint. The mat fits real nice, has a matching tire cover. Weatherstrip is soft. Has a spare.
UNDERSIDE: The front end steering and suspension all appear to be in very good shape. It has an added swaybar. In back it’s been upgraded with coilover shocks. It has a new dual exhaust system with glass pack style mufflers. It has drum brakes all around that are working properly, e-brake assembly is hooked up. There is ZERO rot under this car. The floor pans, frame rails, rockers, lower quarter are completely original metal and rock solid. Looking up at the motor it is clean, has correct canister fuel filter. It’s a factory 4-speed, it looks fresh. Original gears in back.
Service: We thoroughly inspected the car and spent $809 on service. We fixed the horn, e-brake assembly, tachometer, and oil pressure gauge. We replaced the turn signal switch and a turn signal bulb.
It is not a perfectly restored car. It is an unabused, very well-preserved car. It has my respect. Great looking car with some cool performance options.

What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car’s condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom.
