Taheya Carioca 1948

This is from the 1948 film Amiret al Gaziera (Emira of the Island) it’s not one of Taheya Carioca’s most well known films and it’s a shorter film than most of her other ones. The movie co-stars Ismael Yaseen and Mahmoud Shecoco. The choreographies in this film were created by Isaac Dickson who was the most high profile choreographer in Egypt at that time. He worked for Badia Masabni at her club training her dancers and he also choreographed the dance numbers in countless Egyptian golden era films. He also occasionally appeared as an actor, playing small roles in several films.
