MSI have released a new bios for the AMD Ryzen 5800X3D CPU. You can now fully control Precision Boost Overdrive 2 (PBO2) and Curve Optimiser (CO) on your CPU! This is excellent news as you can now easily control the 5800X3D as you would any other AM4 CPU in the bios, instead of having to rely on running a programme within Windows everytime you start your PC (i.e PBO2 Tuner). Traditionally the 5800X3D CPU is limited in regards to the control the user has over setting power limits due to the inclusion of extra L3 cache which is beneficial for gaming. The downside of this is that the CPU tends to run hot and can be prone to overheating thus resulting in reduced performance. Now by setting our own PBO2 limits along with Curve Optimiser, you can enjoy increased performance, reduced temperatures, and increase the lifespan on your CPU. In the video I explain how to download the latest MSI BIOS (I am using the MSI B550 Gaming Plus AM4 motherboard), how to flash the new bios to the motherboard, and then I showcase the CPU running with the new bios and improved power limits.
