Land army forewoman. Buckinghamshire. M/S as a newcomer walks up to farm and is greeted by other land girls, they are there to attend training course for forewomen. She is shown her sleeping quarters then walks out in her overalls. She goes off with the other girls. M/S’s as they sit outside and have a lecture about agriculture. Various shots as they gather around a tractor and learn the mechanics. She drives off on the tractor pulling a plough. M/S as she puts a saddle on a horse. Various shots as the girls learn to fit milking machines, some also milk by hand. M/S as a calf is fed out of a bucket. M/S’s as the girls walk down a lane and learn about weeds, M/S as they hoe them away in the vegetable patch. Various shots of the girls with cow and calf, a bull and some sheep.
