Pentatonic Substitution like a BOSS!

In this video we’ll be taking a deep dive into superimposing the minor pentatonic scale over three different chord types (m7, Maj7, Dom7). This is a great way to freshen up your playing, add some new colours and start to tackle the ’changes’. In summary we’ll have these choices: m7 Option 1 = starting on root (1 b3 4 5 b7) Option 2 = starting on 5th (5 b7 1 9 11) Option 3 = starting on major 2nd (9 11 5 b7 13) Maj7 Option 1 = starting on major 6th (6 1 2 3 5 6) Option 2 = starting on major 3rd (3 5 13 7 9) Option 3 = starting on major 7th (7 9 3 #11 13) Dom7 Option 1 = start on major 6th (6 1 2 3 5 6) Option 2 = start on root (1 b3 4 5 b7) Option 3 = start on minor 3rd (#9 b5 #5 b7 b9) (You can also use the other two options we used for the m7 chord). ☑️ You can find all the TAB including the main improvised solos on my support page:
