Measuring Extracellular Vesicles by Flow Cytometry, Challenges and Prospects

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are small (~100 nm) membrane-bound vesicles released from the cell surface and intracellular compartments of all cells. EVs are of great interest as clinical biomarkers due to their abundance in blood, CSF, and other body fluids and because they carry protein and nucleic acids from their cell of origin.
