This week’s guest is Alexandra Savior. The Portland native hit it big with a cover song posted on YouTube at age 17, and then was put through the wringer, as she puts it, by the major labels. We talk about that, as well as the difficult path for women in music and the challenges of systemic misogyny in the industry.
Alexandra put out her first album, Belladonna of Sadness, in 2017, in partnership with Alex Turner of The Arctic Monkeys, who you will hear mentioned a lot in this conversation. This year, she put out a beautiful, personal, and moving record called The Archer. Listen to the full interview wherever you get your podcast.
