Drauger OS is an Ubuntu-based Linux desktop gaming distribution that ships with many modifications and optimizations over stock Ubuntu that are intended to improve gaming performance and the gaming experience. From simple changes such as swapping Gnome out for KDE Plasma and using a dark QT theme by default, to more complex changes such as using a kernel compiled in-house and replacing PulseAudio with Pipewire. Drauger OS is built from the ground up with our primary focus on performance. Is drauger os right for you? But, Drauger OS is not for the faint of heart. Like it’s namesake, Drauger OS is capable of breathing new life into old computers. Drauger OS is a Desktop Linux Gaming Operating System. Our aim is to provide a platform for gamers to get great performance without sacrificing security. From Keyboard and Mouse to a Full Flight Simulator, our goal is to make it easy for anyone to start playing their favorite games quickly. Since Drauger OS is based on Ubuntu LTS, it’s secure, stable and will continue to recieves regular updates even if your version of Drauger OS isn’t currently supported by our Developers. What Drauger OS is NOT Drauger OS is NOT for everyday use. For this reason, it does not come with some apps that you may find “common“. Although they will still function, Drauger OS does not come with audio or video editing software (i.e. Audacity and Kdenlive) nor an Office Suite (i.e. LibreOffice). Furthermore, Drauger OS is NOT based on: Arch, Fedora, or Solus. There are no plans to rebase Drauger OS to another distro for various reasons. Most impotantly, the majority of other distributions would require copious amounts of work to get to the point we are at now. This is not to say they are not good distributions, but rather they do not fit our vision of where to take Drauger OS and do not fit our development process. The Drauger OS vision of the Future Drauger OS was created for several reasons. The primary of which is that other gaming distributions were either abandoned, difficult to use, or did not have a strong community supporting them. To avoid the issues listed above, we observe the following tenets when developing Drauger OS: Continuity: We have structured Drauger OS Development around a team concept and distributed leadership. That way, the project won’t stop if a key member discontinues work. Ease of Use: We aim to make Drauger OS user-friendly.
