More than 1,000 protesters took to the streets of Bangkok on July 18, 2021, despite partial lockdowns being imposed on the Thai capital. Demonstrators called for the resignation of Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha, as they cited government failures to curb the latest wave of deadly coronavirus infections. On July 18, the nation reported 11,397 new Covid-19 cases and 101 deaths.
