Wojciech Sowinski, Piano Concerto no. 1 in G-Minor, op. 36 WORLD PREMIERE

I. Allegro moderto II. Larghetto religioso III. Rondo [Allegro energico] A three movement Chopin style concerto dating from 1831 was composed by Polish composer Wojciech Albert Sowinski in Paris and there premiered around 1830s. Then he travelled with that piece on his concert tour around the Europe with a great succes. The piece was next forgotten for over 190 years and Sowinski devoted himself to composition and teaching, he died in Paris in 1880, forgotten and in poverty. Grand Concerto was found in 2013 in Louisville in USA by Artur Slotwinski who restored the original piano&orchestra version from one piano reduction. In this form the piece was premiered in September 24th at Chopin University in Warsaw Poland. And this video is a live recording from that event. The piece represents virtuoso brillant style of mixture of early Liszt and Chopin from his Concertos including Polish themes and character.
