Yesterday I decided to check out Spirit-Mode for the first time. I’ve mainly been working on routing Graze-Mode in the hopes to 1cc it someday, but with the current version of the game I believe a 1cc to be nearly impossible (or completely impossible even, but that won’t stop me from trying.) *(Edit: Nevermind that! Go watch the Graze Mode 1cc:
So I ended up 1ccing Spirit-Mode on my first try, the additional trances you get makes the game a lot easier. I mainly just used my Graze-Mode route and adapted/planned ahead while I was playing to figure out when my trance would run out and how much gauge I would be able to get afterwards. I was able to showcase my route really well, everything more or less went perfectly. So if you need help with any patterns, I advise you to give a look at whatever you need.
I’ll just go and explain the mechanics for a bit. Grazing in Spirit-Mode fills up the Trance-gauge, when the Trance-gauge is full you can use trance for additional firepower, cancelling bullets and you become invulnerable for a short period of time. The bullets of any enemy you kill during Trance-mode will become gems and are added to the True meter. The True-meter adds points to something, but trust me, it’s probably something valuable.
Dying completely empties out the True-meter and the amount you’ve Grazed for the stage. Spirit-Mode has auto-bombs whenever you get hit, using a bomb, however, halves the amount of graze you have.
You should also know that using Trance during bosses give a lot of points if your True-meter is high. So yeah, use that as an opportunity to cash-in if your run is good.
Stage 1: 00:20 - Boss: 01:51
Stage 2: 04:05 - Boss: 05:51
Stage 3: 07:57 - Boss: 10:46
Stage 4: 13:35 - Boss: 16:25
Stage 5: 18:49 - Boss: 23:49
True Last Boss: 27:00
Anyways, this game is pretty damn fun! I’ve spent almost 20 hours on this game since it was released on Friday. I definitely recommend checking it out if you’re a fan of danmaku shooters.
