Okayu Japanese Rice Porridge from Princess Mononoke #studioghibli #princessmononoke #anime
Ingredients:
classic japanese okayu:
-80g Sushi Rice (short grain rice)
-700ml Water
princess mononoke version:
-1-2 tbsp dark miso paste
-scallions
-pinch of salt
Optional Toppings for Okayu:
-scrambled eggs
-sweet potatoes
-salmon
-umeboshi
-sesame
-sweet stuff
Instructions:
Wash your Rice until the water becomes almost clear. Put rice and water in a pot. Cook on medium heat.
When it boils, stir a view times and reduce the heat to low. Partially cover with a lid and cook at low heat for 30-40 minutes.
The last 5-10 minutes, add Miso Paste and Scallions, mix slowly until the Miso Paste dissolved.
