#bengalclassicalmusicfestival
Dhrupad is one of the oldest forms of Indian classical music extant today and Pt. Uday Bhawalkar is its foremost exponent. A doyen of the Dagar Gharana, Pt. Bhawalkar’s powerful vocal range , disciplined and imaginative control , sense of drama and fine rhythmic subtlety have earned him a very special place in the classical music circuit.
In the maiden Bengal Classical Music Festival, held in Dhaka 2012, Pt. Uday Bhawalkar performed Raag Jog with a long alaap , much to the delight of the audiences.
