Secret Ellipse Animation Trick! - Adobe After Effects Tutorial

Project file: Do you need to animate an Ellipse with a Fill but are having issues using Trim Paths? If so, the reason is because Trim Paths doesn’t work with Fills since you are trimming a “path“. Here’s one of those crucial tips that will change the way you animate circular designs that require a Fill forever! This shape layer has a Group, an Ellipse, a Trim Paths, and a Fill. As we adjust the START and END percentages, notice how the Trim Paths interacts with the Fill of this Ellipse. It just won’t work. You could add a Radial Wipe, but once you move the Shape Layer around, the effect falls apart. The trick to getting it right is to use a Stroke instead of a Fill and making one small adjustment.
