TAI WOFFINDEN: 2013 FIM SPEEDWAY WORLD CHAMPION

Great Britain sensation Tai Woffinden ended his country’s 13-year wait for a world champion after sealing the 2013 Speedway World Championship at the Marian Rose Motoarena in Torun on October 5 2013. Racing in only his second full season in the SGP World Championships and as a wild card pick, Woffinden became the first Brit to win an event at the Mitas Czech Speedway Grand Prix in Prague on May 18. Woffinden finished the season with one win, to silver and two bronze medal spots, the latter four podium finishes despite racing with a shattered collarbone he suffered at the Fogo British SGP in Cardiff on June 1.
