Andre Paurenfeyndt’s ’Basics of Knightly Fencing’: a workshop on Messer and other onehanded Swords
Last time I did a handout after a workshop, it was well received (and it elicited quite some request to actually fence in a suit). I suppose people like the format, so I did it again, this time for a workshop for Fechtschule Bruges, which I’m hopefully thoroughly enjoying by the time people read this. The goal of this workshop is not to go over all the cool and weird stuff from Paurenfeynd’t Messer section, because this has already been expertly done before. Instead, we’ll be looking at both the possibility of stringing Stücke together, as well as using them to learn to fence with other one handed weapons of the era.
