Why was Hagia Sophia re-opened as a mosque and some explanations for Edogan’s erratic behaviour.

I put forward some ideas as to the reason president Erdogan of Turkey chose, at lightening speed to re-open the Hagia Sophia cathedral as a practicing Mosque after having been a museum since the early 30s of the last century and also for his seemingly erratic behaviour over the years that others seem not to have posited for the moment. Is he working for Turkey and her best interest or is he working for someone else? One of the main reasons may well be to create tension between Muslims and Christians i.e. Orthodox, especially in Russia.
